Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Breeze Fox Studios ("we") handles in Wuxing: Elemental Array Poker and its demo (the "game") and on playwuxing.com, why, and what choices you have.

We run no servers of our own

The game never sends data to a server we operate. Everything described below is either stored on Valve's Steam service or stays on your computer.

Public leaderboards

When you play through Steam, the game posts the following results to Steam leaderboards. They are public together with your Steam display name, and other players can see them in the game.

• Weekly challenge: stages cleared and best single hand
• Your all-time best single hand, with a record of how it was played
• Furthest stage reached on each difficulty and each challenge

Practice mode and seeded runs are never posted to these public leaderboards.

Play statistics (you can turn this off)

To learn where new players get stuck, tune difficulty and balance, and find performance problems, the game stores the statistics below on separate Steam leaderboards. The game never displays them, but Steam does not hide them, so anyone who owns the game could technically read them.

• Progress — how much play time, counted across all sessions since you first launched the game, it took to reach early milestones: launching the game, starting a first run, playing a first hand, each tutorial lesson, finishing or skipping the tutorial (and at which point), clearing the first stages, leaving the first shop, and clearing the first act
• Run results — whether a run was lost, won or abandoned; the stage it ended on and the boss faced there; the final hand and the stage total, each as a share of the target; hands and discards left and calamities taken; the sect, difficulty and challenge played, and whether it was the weekly challenge; artifacts held; and how often Generation and Counter pairs triggered
• Environment — game language, screen resolution and scaling, text size, fullscreen or not, operating system type, average frame rate and how long it was sampled, demo or full game, and game version
• Features — when, in play time, you first opened screens such as the codex, settings, leaderboards, the weekly challenge, your deck and the Creation tab, or first saw a card tooltip

This data is linked to your Steam account, because that is how Steam leaderboards work. It does not include your name, email address, payment details, location, files on your computer, or anything you type.

This setting is on by default. You can turn it off at any time under Settings → Data → Send play statistics. Once it is off, the game stops recording and sending statistics and cancels any not yet sent; public leaderboards keep working.

If you are in the EU or UK, we process play statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the game, and you can object at any time with the switch above.

Data that stays on your computer

Saves, settings, unlock progress and error logs stay on your side and never reach us, except an error log you choose to send us yourself.

Steam

When you buy and play the game through Steam, Valve handles your data under the Steam Privacy Policy. In Steam's developer tools we see aggregate figures, such as wishlist counts and the spread of play time and regions.

The website sets no cookies and runs no tracking or analytics. It only stores your display language in your browser. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard connection data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect it. External sites linked from it, such as Steam, Discord, Bilibili and Xiaoheihe, have their own privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

Leaderboard and statistics entries stay on Steam until we delete the leaderboard.

Children

The game is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
